The Bangladeshi-Night Committee in collaboration with the Nassau County Department of Parks, Recreation & Museums held the Bangladeshi-American Night 2007 event, at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow, Long Island, New York.

Americans of Bangladeshi heritage have contributed to the economic, social, and cultural enrichment of their country and their local communities, earning the respect and admiration of their fellow citizens in recognition of their contributions towards the Bangladeshi-American Community. The County Executive, Thomas R. Suozzi, awarded two individuals and two organizations for their contributions to the community in their respective fields. MAAWS was one of the two organizations awarded and was recognized for its HIV/AIDS awareness and education program. MAAWS CEO, Golam Mawla Manik received the award on behalf of the organization. Followed by the recognitions was a cultural show performed by the Bangladeshi artists.

MAAWS would like to give a sincere thanks to the Bangladeshi-American Night Committee and Nassau County Officials for recognizing our humanitarian work.
